Boko Haram Forced Us To Operate Temporary Secretariat Says LG Chairman , As  Fire Outbreak Renders Over 1200 IDPs Homeless In Guzamala

The Executive Chairman of Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State, Hon. Umar Ali Kyari has said that since Boko Haram sect dislodged thousands of his people in the last two and half years, the secretariat and administrative works for the Council are been operated temporarily in Nganzai Local Government Area.
Recalled two weeks ago, the Speaker Borno State House of Assembly,  representing Guzamala Constituency, Rt. Hon Abdulkarim Lawan addressed Journalists in Maiduguri where he said, ” the entire Guzamala Local Government Area is under the control of Boko Haram”.
The Chairman said, his people are in a very difficult situation compounded with the last week fire outbreak which took place in Nganzai Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, which rendered over 1,200 Guzamala people homeless with no food or means of livelihoods.
He stated this in Maiduguri while briefing Journalists on the inability of the security forces to dislodge Boko Haram who are still in total control of Guzamala  Local Government Area to allow peaceful return of his people back to their ancestral communities.
Kyari however said, the state Government under the leadership of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is doing the best to mitigate economic hardship faced by his displaced people taking refuge in Nganzai, Monguno, Maiduguri, Gubio among other relatively safe places, but appealed to other Humanitarian agencies such as National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to quickly provide relief items to the victims of fire incident in Nganzai.
His words: ” Recalled that in the year 2018, we in Guzamala Local Government Area Jubilated when troops of Operation Last Hold accompanied us including 6,000 IDPS back to Gudumbali, the Headquarter of Guzamala Local Government, we couldn’t stay there for a long, as Boko haram dislodged troops and the civil population.
“Precisely on 20 June 2018, we were forced out of Guzamala and now taking refuge at various camps in the state.
” Since then, Guzamala Local Government secretariat and administrative works are been operated temporarily in Nganzai Local Government Area.
“My people are in a very difficult situation compounded with the last week fire outbreak which took place in Nganzai Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp. In that fire incident, at least more than 1,200 people of Guzamala are now homeless with no food or means of livelihoods.
