Covid-19 :Jigawa Parents Call On FG , State Government To Reopen Schools

Parents in their hundreds in Jigawa State have made a passionate appeals on States and Federal government to rescinds its pronouncements on closure of schools and allow full scale academic resumption immediately in order to safeguard the future of our younger generations
Speaking on be-half of the parents, Comrade Shehu Garki complained that the long closure iis already having negative effects on the wellbeing of their wards. “It’s a the situation that is derailing our children’s intelligence, as well a set back to most final year student’s who are studying and preparing for their WAEC/ NECCO Examinations, among others” he lamented
” Honestly the prolonged school’s closure has immensely crippled their studies and affected their intelligence, that I can confidently say will take a long time to recover when ever the school’s were reopen”
Also speaking, Comrade Bello Dutse added that school’s closure was a great set back to us especially as it’s jeorpadising the future of our children and that of our country, stressing no nation could develop when the future education of our younger generation’s are threatened
He contended that school’s reopening should be pursued as a matter of urgency as it will revive educational activities on our campuses, in public school’s premises, as well as boost the morale of our teachers .
But to the jigawa state Commissioner of Education, Dr. Lawal Yunusa Danzomo who defended govt action’s on school’s closure stated the closer of our school’s was purely on medical ground to avoid our children befallen into health harzard of Covid-19 syndrome.
” Even though I am not authorized to hold brief on our governments, government decision on school’s closure was noting short of self medication in taking preventive measures to guide the health status of our children from the scourge of Covid-19, assuring government has taken measures in resolving the issues amicably based on advisory of our health experts “
According to him, I am confident that our school’s will soon be re-open as modalities towards putting in place all necessary measures and apparatus to such schools are on finishing touches nationwide to pave way for the school’s reopening he admonish.
It could be recalled that jigawa state government had earlier announced the closure of all their schools since february this year even before the federal government pronouncement that school’s were closed down nationwide.
