FAYEMI’S LEGACY PROJECTS: PANACEA FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT – Aribisogan

The Leader of Government Business, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Olugboyega Aribisogan has described the ongoing roads and other building projects in the three Senatorial Districts of Ekiti state as legacy projects that will open up the state for rapid socio-economic development.
Speaking to newsmen at the end of the three-day tour and inspection of all the ongoing roads and other projects in the state on Friday, the Lawmaker representing Ikole Constituency 1,
who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Works and Transportation said his Committee was satisfied with the level of work done and the progress already made on all the ongoing projects in the state
According to him, the rehabilitation and reconstruction works on Agbado – Ode – isinbode- Omuo roads in the Southern district of the state have reached about fifty percent completion and have since been providing relief for the people of the area who have suffered untold hardships due to the deplorable condition of the roads for nearly twenty years.
” Apart from this, the Ilupeju- Ire -Igbemo-Ijan roads that started from the Northern district through the Central district and which terminated at the Southern district have become a strategic link roads that will ease intra state transportation of goods and services which will boost economic activities and promote social development ” Aribisogan said.
He further stated that the ongoing rehabilitation works on Oye- Itaji- Ayede- Isan-Ikun roads have reached advanced stage of completion adding that the contractor handling the project has promised to deliver on time.
On the new Iyin Road and Aramoko -Erinjiyan- Ikogosi roads at the Central Senatorial district, Aribisogan commended the contractor for the energy and zeal displayed during the inspection and thanked him for the quality job done on the roads.
” In fact, we were satisfied with the level of work done on the Aramoko -Erinjiyan -Ikogosi roads despite the lean purse of the state. The contractor took us round the projects and we were happy with the quality of the job done.”
He further said that his Committee also visited and inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of Ilawe- Igbaraodo- Ibuji Roads which he said will soon be completed.
Aribisogan explained that members of the Committee also visited the College of Agriculture in Isan Ekiti in Oye local government area of the state to ascertain the level of work done on the ongoing construction of two faculty buildings in the College. The projects at the College is still about 35% completion. The contractor handling the project assured us that the work is in progress and promised to meet the timeline and deliver on promise.
He said the the Ekiti State Civic Centre and the Oja market have reached the final stages of completion and shall soon be delivered for public use.
He however commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for these legacy projects and urged the people of the state to cooperate with the government in its efforts to transform the state.
“I thank Ekiti people for their understanding, co-operation and support for our government despite the challenges .These legacy projects remain the panacea for our economic growth and development. It will promote our businesses and transform the state to a destination of choice for investors. I urge our people to continue to support this administration in its efforts to make Ekiti state better. ”
