Governors of the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states, North East Region have stormed Maiduguri the Borno State capital for second meeting.
The first meeting of the Governors took place in March this year which was hosted in Gombe state by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, while the second one is currently hosted by Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on Saturday at Government House Maiduguri.
Others who are participating are the Group Managing Director NNPC and Managing Director North East Development Commission, in which all are expected to make presentation, bordering on security, Oil Exploration, environment, agriculture, decayed infrastructure, oil in the north east and the lake chad region.
Prior to Saturday’s meeting, the technical committee comprising Secretaries of Governments from the six states and focal persons for the North East Development Commission have deliberated for four days on the agenda.
Our Correspondent gathered that all the governors of Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Borno were in attendance, while their counterparts from Taraba and Yobe states, Hon Ishaku Darius and Mai Mala Buni who were unavoidably absent sent in their Deputies.
A communique is expected to be released on outcome of their deliberations later in the day or Tomorrow (Sunday).
