RAMADAN : REPS MEMBER, SATOMI DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO 700 WIDOWS, OTHER VULNERABLE GROUPS

Member House of Representatives, Jere federal constituency in Borno state, Hon. Ahmed Satomi has yesterday distributed food items to over 700 widows, mostly whose husbands were killed by Boko Haram sect in the constituency.
The beneficiaries got one bag of rice, semovita, sugar, cartons of spaghetti, milk and condiments each.
Recalled that the Lawmaker had recently doled out N47 million to better the lives of his people, particularly the less privileges in this Holy Month of Ramadan Kareem.
Hon Satomi who was supported by Executive Chairman of Jere Local Government  Area, Hon Umar Gujja Tom and other ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders flagged off the second phase of the palliative gestures at the Progressives House in Maiduguri Metropolis.
Addressing the beneficiaries that cut across all political parties devoid of ethnic or tribal considerations, Satomi said, “taken care of the immediate needs of families, especially the displaced ones would always be by utmost priorities to ensure inclusive representation”.
Satomi said, the distribution of Ramadan gifts was aimed at relieving Muslims the hardship the COVID-19 and the lingering insecurity may have caused in this year’s Ramadan.
According to him, this year 2021 Holy month of Ramadan came at the time Nigeria is battling with the outbreak of COVID-19 and other insecurity situations, thereby created setbacks to better living and businesses.
The Federal Lawmaker said that the distribution of the relief materials to Muslims and other vulnerable groups in his constituency was in line with his plan and determination to ensure that the dividends of democracy are brought to the doorsteps of the members of the constituency.
He said the gesture is to cushion the hardships people are experiencing during this holy month of Ramadan, despite the little resources, his constituents tested transparent and balanced representation. Pointing out that, the gesture is to spread across the constituency to enable more people benefit.
“I want people to know that, we cannot feed everyone looking at the proximity and size of this constituency, I therefore appeal to everyone to contribute their quota in helping the less privilege”, He added.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Executive Chairman of Jere Council, Hon Gujja Tom thanked Satomi for always giving out assistance and supports to members of his constituency, especially at this critical time of needs.
He promised that the items donated would reached all beneficiaries judiciously and timely.
 He therefore called on all and sundry to pray for good health and protection of Hon Satomi at all times, even as he said, the people of Jere are highly proud and satisfied with Satomi as their representative at the Lower Chamber. End
