The All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu said the huge crowd that attended the party’s presidential campaign in Maiduguri, Borno State capital points to hope and a return of success of the party.
Tinubu, who expressed his happiness at the massive turnout at the venue of the campaign, said the people have given him and the party new hope.
“Borno you proved different, a new hope is here and behold, success is back,” he declared, apparently referring to similar campaigns held in other parts of the north with less crowd.
He promised to revive the nation’s economy and end the sufferings, displacement of the people caused by over a decade of insurgency.
“We will revive the economy. We will develop Nigeria. You have faced difficulties in Borno, you have seen challenges, you have suffered deprivation, homelessness; your happiness is here. You will smile,” he said
He also promised to run an open government by bringing different people on board. “I assure you that the government that is coming will be by the people and for the people,” he pledged.
Vice presidential candidate, Sen Kashim Shettima, in his remark, said they will revive the oil exploration in the Lake Chad if voted into office in the next Saturday presidential election.
He appealed to the people to go out next week and vote for the APC.
APC National Chairman, Sen Abdullahi Adamu said Borno people have removed the party from shame with the crowd.
Others at the campaign included governors of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni, Kano’s Abdullahi Ganduje, Nasarawa Abdullahi Sule, Gombe Inuwa Yahaya, Jigawa Badaru Abubakar and all former governors of Borno.
